I read this yesterday about pro-control/ pro-forced births. What do you think about it?

Here’s the thing

It doesn’t matter.

It doesn’t matter when life begins.

It doesn’t matter whether a fetus is a human being or not.

That entire argument is a red herring, a distraction, a subjective and unwinnable argument that could not matter less.

It doesn’t matter whether we’re talking about a fertilized egg or a fetus, or a baby or a five-year-old, or a Nobel Prize-winning pediatric oncologist.

NOBODY has the right to use your body, against your will, even to save their life, or the life of another person.

That’s it.

That’s the argument.

You cannot be forced to donate blood, marrow, or organs, even though hundreds of thousands die every year on waiting lists.

They cannot even harvest your organs after your death without explicit, written, pre-mortem permission.

Denying women the right to an abortion means we have less bodily autonomy than a corpse.

Im on the fence. 🤔
I believe life begins at conception. Period.
BUT, I also respect a women's right to chose.
Reverse of RvW will ultimately set us back 50, 75 years where backally coathangers were used.
We'll just have to pray that the Justices use their wisdom in final decision making, along with their conscious. 🙏😇

@Montanaman If life begins at conception - 🙏😇 - then what of the 75% of fertilized embryos that don't come to full term? Not through abortion. By nature.

@Graylight God's will. 🙏😇

@Montanaman So God gets to choose who lives and dies, but man doesn't?
Montanaman · M
@Graylight truth. Even though men do choose,, ie; the death penalty, suicide, abortion. War.
😞💔 Life is precious. 💞

@Montanaman So you disagree with capital punishment.
Montanaman · M
@Graylight Mostly, yes.
However, in this case, I think it's called for...

"On Monday, Idaho prosecutors filed a notice of intent seeking the death penalty against Lori Vallow Daybell, accused of killing two of her children, if she’s convicted."

@Montanaman So then, under your own rules, man may sometimes play judge, jury and executioner.

If man's okay with judging who may live and who may die, why can't a woman make the same choices?

@Graylight if you read my full comment above, you'll see that we're in agreement on that last point. I concede that despite my "when does life begin ?" Beliefs, I think that a woman has a right to choose.

@Montanaman Fair enough, that you did. My question for you - and this is a genuine one - is how do we bridge that gap? Most "pro-choice" people don't encourage or enjoy abortions; it's about autonomy, they'll fight for it. Most who think life begins at conception are immovable on the point. So where's the middle ground where everyone can live? Preventing? Education? Programs? Until we find answers, all we have are problems, you know?

@Graylight im not even sure its possible. Im unique and also my stance is thus unique. I just believe it's a personal choice.
