I read this yesterday about pro-control/ pro-forced births. What do you think about it?

Here’s the thing

It doesn’t matter.

It doesn’t matter when life begins.

It doesn’t matter whether a fetus is a human being or not.

That entire argument is a red herring, a distraction, a subjective and unwinnable argument that could not matter less.

It doesn’t matter whether we’re talking about a fertilized egg or a fetus, or a baby or a five-year-old, or a Nobel Prize-winning pediatric oncologist.

NOBODY has the right to use your body, against your will, even to save their life, or the life of another person.

That’s it.

That’s the argument.

You cannot be forced to donate blood, marrow, or organs, even though hundreds of thousands die every year on waiting lists.

They cannot even harvest your organs after your death without explicit, written, pre-mortem permission.

Denying women the right to an abortion means we have less bodily autonomy than a corpse.

Can they mandate a vaccine?

@redredred Remind me again who set vax mandates. Was it the government? Or…. Was it your job?

@Randi1125 The government pressured virtually every company in the country. Is the one who hires the hit man innocent?
Randi1125 · 31-35, F
@redredred No one held you down and made you get vaccinated so yes, you had a choice. You just didn’t like the consequences. Period.

@Randi1125 Sure, I could lose my job, be unable to travel, risk losing visitation, not be able to visit my parents, total freedom actually and not a bit intrusive on bodily autonomy, really. Right?

@redredred You’re comparing a vaccine that helps fight a pandemic to being forced to give birth? Cool, if that’s what you think, when are we going to legislate the mandatory, but reversible vasectomy of all males to be a new law?

@Randi1125 the clearest indicator of intelligence is the ability to discern an analogy because no analogy is perfect an it requires you to exercise insight. The Miller Analogy test is one of the most valid measures in use. I don’t need to point out what your inability or unwillingness to see what this analogy means.

@redredred Oop. There it is! As soon as I say men need to be responsible you bow out with a failed attempt to insult my intelligence. Goddamn, men are so sensitive. Focus! No one was ever forced to get a vaccine. You could CHOOSE to be vaxxed or to be welcome in certain spaces. Very different. I don’t give af if you’re vaccinated. Just stay away from me if you aren’t. So try again, stop being such a crybaby and FOCUS.
@redredred Fine, we keep abortion legal nationwide and you don’t have to get the jab, you fucking crybaby.

@redredred It's OK if you're afraid of needles. Your parents forced you to get vaccinated when you were a kid, so you're making up for it now because you're an adult and no one can force you anymore.

So you're not really a libertarian if you think it's OK for the government to force women to give birth at gunpoint because some fundamentalist religious types get off on that. Scratch a libertarian hard enough and you eventually find the authoritarian statist.
