Italy Announces Rollout of Dystopian ‘Social Credit System’ to “Conserve Resources”

Italy Announces Rollout of Dystopian ‘Social Credit System’ to “Conserve Resources” – First of its Kind in the EU – Compliant Citizens Will Be Rewarded for “Good Behavior”

Social credit scores are already in use in various places around the world, but nowhere more than in the communist hell hole that is China. The dystopian measurement acts in a similar fashion to a traditional credit score, however, as the name indicates, one’s score has little to do with their financial prospects or ability to pay off debt on time – social scores are all about your level of compliance to the regime and acceptance of the approved narrative.

For example, if social credit scores were in full effect in the United States and you were to donate money to a company like the National Rifle Association (NRA) or buy stocks in oil – pretty much anything deemed far-right or environmentally damaging by the establishment – your score would take a hit. Too many hits and, you guessed it, there goes your purchasing power and ability.

With this dystopian coercion tool being used in an authoritarian dictatorship like China, where there is no such thing as individual rights or free speech, it could be easily assumed that this system would not be compatible with the United States, or even the West more broadly, but sadly that’s not the case.

Governments across the western world are exploring using this tool, especially in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, which proved that the government can obtain almost limitless power in a crisis and set the stage for the next phase of the World Economic Forum’s project 2030 – where the plan is that you will “own nothing and be happy.”

Supposedly, it's a VOLUNTARY and PILOT program that ONE city in Italy is rolling out.

If you needed to MISLEAD people about something, at least give us a laugh, like:

"Alien Ship Crash Lands Near Area 51."

"Giant Asteroid to Hit Earth Next Week."

"Trump to Open Golf Course on Moon."

So, nothing in the article was incorrect or deceitful. Yet, you found it to be misleading.
Did it cause you to think?
Was that the painful result?

Look Beck - if you think social credit systems are good, go ahead and make your case.

@Budwick

I've already denounced such systems, like the one in China, and actually favor laws that would strip companies like Equifax that keep credit score calculations secret. People should be able to know EXACTLY how their score would change as they accumulate debt, opening credit cards or make a late payment.

Your post made it sound like the ENTIRE nation of Italy was imposing some MANDATORY system.

So, why be blase about this one, even as a test run?
Seems to me to be a red flag, or at least a yellow one.

Reminds me of the credit system China implemented a few years ago.

You lose points when people don't like you. Your score determines if you can borrow money, what kinds of foods you are allowed to get, and how much. It's weird.

New Social Credit System In Italy Could Lead To ‘Serious Violations Of Rights’

Sharing is Caring!

Following Rome, the Italian city of Bologna recently announced plans to implement a pilot program for a social credit system, which will reward citizens for what they call “virtuous” behavior.

The municipal administration, including the city’s mayor, Matteo Lepore, and “digital agenda” director, Massimo Bugani, presented the controversial “Smart Citizen Wallet” on March 29th at a press conference on digital innovation.

According to reports, the “Smart Citizen Wallet” currently has a strong focus on “promoting climate-friendly behavior” and will reward citizens for things such as recycling, taking public transportation, avoiding tickets, and managing energy usage. A person’s score will then provide them with benefits such as discounts, cultural activities, and more.

Despite the city’s insistence that “no one will be forced to participate” in the social credit system, many are sounding the alarm about the dangers of its implementation, saying it could easily be expanded and abused by governing authorities.

Italy introduces new app aiming to reward citizens for virtuous behavior.

A few Italian cities like Bologna and Rome will undertake a digital plan this autumn aligning citizen’s behaviors with the objectives of the UN 2030 Agenda by introducing an app called “Smart Citizen Wallet”. This plan is creating some controversy, however. As Italian media have reported, citizens who separate their trash, use public transportation, or otherwise behave virtuously will be rewarded with discounts via this app.

Critics of this technology warn of the possible dangers of digital identity (surveillance, data harvesting, and other issues). They worry that people will be divided into two groups: those who are considered “good” citizens and those who are considered “bad”. While the good citizens enjoy certain privileges, the bad citizens could eventually become more and more excluded from public life.

They are importing the slave system of China into Europe. The only question is, when will it make it to the US shores.

There are more you lazy, ...*&*, )(^#*

@Budwick That is a blog. I found plenty of those myself, it provides no documentation, just repeats what numerous other similar pages say.
Thank you for demonstrating that you are just promoting a conspiracy theory.

I noticed major Communist tendencies in some of SW's more vocal Italians, so I am not surprised. People here on SW have even been calling the Pope a Commie.

It makes me want to vomit. People are going along with this stuff voluntarily? If that's the case, then they deserved Mussolini, and they deserve what they get this time, too.
