Do Republicans want Americans to suffer from inflation?

First and foremost, inflation is a problem globally. Inflation is not a uniquely American problem. However, Americans do rely on their government to try and tackle it.

The Democrats are in power, they want to help the American people, and they have every incentive to try everything they can to fight inflation. But what about Republicans? What is their incentive? It should be to help the American people, to help their constituents. But their actions are proving otherwise because inflation will help them win the midterms. "It's all Biden's fault!"
Seriously? Democrats created global inflation? Do tell. How did they manage that? No, it's a global surge in demand as we all came out of pandemic isolation, not to mention the war. But Republicans will continue spreading disinformation and their constituents will fall for it. Republicans are far more interested in winning elections than helping your pocketbook.

Biden and the Democrats are trying in ways large and small. But every step of the way the Republicans are there to block them, stop them or make inflation worse.

Example #1: Biden nominated 5 new nominees for the Federal Reserve. It’s their job to tackle inflation. What did the Republicans do? They boycotted the vote making it impossible to get them in place.
Example #2: Biden put together the Supply Chain Disruptions Task Force which largely is the reason why Christmas didn’t go as badly as people were expecting. But then you get Texas governor Republican Greg Abbott changing how they do inspections at the border that has completely snarled all the supply trucks coming in from Mexico.
Example #3: the House put together a focused bill to lower the cost of insulin. Keep in mind that we’ll over 9 million Americans rely on insulin to manage their diabetes. Nearly every Republican voted against it.

So many more examples like the Republicans voting against removing the gas tax... Moving on.

Do you know what the GOP plan is to tackle inflation? Nothing. They have no plan. Just like their healthcare plan (nonexistent). Democrats are the only ones trying to help regular Americans. The Republican constituents should be outraged but they’re not because right-wing media keeps EVERYONE focused on fake outrages (“grooming bill”, CRT, voter fraud, etc). Right-wing propagandists do this every time. Spread lies and fear so no one notices that Republicans are raising taxes and trying to eliminate Social Security and Medicare. Republicans do not care about regular Americans.

Inflation under Trump, one and a half %. Biden, almost 9 % and rising. Oil prices have gone up from the day Biden took office because of his was in fossil fuel. People vote their pocket book. It will be interesting to see what happens in November?

All due to supply and demand jackson55.
jackson55 · M
@PTCdresser57 Quite true. And Biden cut a great deal of the US supply.

@jackson55 Seriously, this is ridiculous!

Economics depends on long-term and international trends.

Is Biden also to blame for inflation in Britain and France?

Maybe Canadian inflation was low in 2020 due to Trump's amazing economic management. 🤣
Firegod74 · 46-50, M
@Burnley123 No Canadian inflation is due to our own Libral government trying to spend their way out of a crisis.

@jackson55 trump is a master of lies and totally narcissism idk how people can’t see at this point ?
jackson55 · M
@Catzgano The Clinton’s and Obama didn’t fall too far behind in the lies department. Jen Saki wouldn’t know the truth if it bit her on the ass. She will be a good asset on MSNBC.

You missed causality 101.

@Firegod74 Britain has a Conservative government so what's that about?

Inflation is global. You can't begin a serious discussion on this until you know that.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Northwest I'm blaming Boris for the rain. He's current PM so it must be his fault.
Northwest · M
@Burnley123 Or a basic understanding of the concept: oil is a global commodity, and while price at the pump is determined by the locale, the base price of oil is determined by a cabal called OPEC.
Northwest · M
@Burnley123 Yeah, and that hideous haircut.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Northwest Or that supply and demand fluctuate globally or the relationship between debt (from the pandemic) and inflation.

Not even close, my friend.
Trump lied just about every time he opened his mouth.
In his first 100 days, President Trump had 29 statements assessed by PolitiFact (17 false) compared to 12 statements from President Obama (1 false) and 4 statements from President Biden (2 false). As a raw count, Trump told more falsehoods than Biden and Obama combined.

@jackson55 Nothing happens in November , nothing will change . Its not in US hands for a change.
