"Partner"?
Donald Trump had hardly gained the Oval Office key when he started to show his naivety in international affairs; and he has certainly expressed admiration for some pretty unpleasant regimes.
Nevertheless I'd be surprised if Putin regards Trump as any genuine "partner", or even has any real respect for him; but more likely admires the attitudes of Trump and his followers to the rancid political and social divisions already existing within the USA he (Putin) despises.
You Americans have to consider that all your bitter but petty internal arguments are seen world-wide, and although not relevant in detail or personality, in entirety they may be very useful to your many enemies.

@ArishMell i would not call them partners . however putin would use trump and tell trump he is a friend if it would cause division in the usa. and trump would do the same if it caused division in the usa so he could get reelected . divide and conquer. it is a time old way of controlling a mass of people by getting them to fight themselves. remember england the british tea company did this very well . The British believed in the policy of 'Divide and Rule' because it is easier to control people when they are divided and are not united. The British created the rift between the Hindus and the Muslims, between the lower castes and the upper castes and among various communities. its sad that history repeats itself and we do not learn from it., mark
