Because technically, people can lynch someone without race being an issue. It's just that historically, lynching has been done for racial reasons.

@BohoBabe Exactly. @Graylight, do you recall they were going to hang Mike Pence not that long ago? That would have been a lynching that wasn't racially motivated.
