Have you heard about this horrific anti-abortion bill out of Missouri?

Missouri house bill 2810 would make abortion at 10 weeks a Class A felony. That means 10-30 years in prison. It also criminalizes abortion for ectopic pregnancies. This is a pregnancy where the fertilized egg implants outside the uterus. It is nonviable and there’s no medical science or technology to change that. Ectopic pregnancies are so dangerous for women that they are the cause of 10% of all pregnancy-related deaths and the leading cause of death in the first trimester. So the Missouri GOP is giving women a choice to either die or spend 30 years in prison. Draconian.

Actually, in some cases ectopic pregnancies can be saved with modern medical techniques. And there is nothing "horrific" about protecting the lives of defensless innocent babies. The horrific thing is that such protections are not already in place in all 50 states.

Our society is very very sick and broken in that it is legal to snuff out a human life as long as he or she is very small and helpless.

@GoodoldBob Its horrific that you think these kind of decisions are between anyone but the woman affected and her doctor.

No, they can't. Nonviable means the baby won’t survive with ectopic pregnancies. The mother and embryo will die. How is this real life?! What am I saying? It’s not about life, it’s about controlling women.

@Randi1125 It has been possible for at least 20 years. Not in all cases but in some. It has actually been done. In real life.

@Pherick You were ok with vaccine mandates?
Randi1125 · 31-35, F
@GoodoldBob

That's not true.

It is not common, as I already admitted. But it is sometimes possible. I was merely pointing out an inaccuracy in your post
Pherick · 41-45, M
@MrBrownstone Of course I was, because they are solid science and save lives. Sadly people, apparently like you, would rather believe in insane conspiracies theories and let people get sick and die.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@Pherick So no one had adverse effects from the vaccines?
Randi1125 · 31-35, F
@GoodoldBob

So ONE woman?! That's it? That's all you got?
"Despite the overwhelming odds stacked against her, she risked her life..."

Good for that ONE woman. Would you encourage your wife to do the same?

People who support this kind of action should go to jail for mass assault on women! Simple!
GoodoldBob · 61-69, M
@Randi1125 I could find more examples but that really isn't the point. You said it was not possible. I said that it is and that it has been done. You are wrong. I am right. Get over it.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@MrBrownstone Vaccines, like all medicine, are rigorously tested. Can we tell how every medication will affect every single person? Of course not. Does that mean we shouldn't use those medications? Again, of course not.

We know the vaccines have an excellent safety record and by staggering amounts they have helped and saved more people than they have hurt.

@GoodoldBob You are not right. Thats like saying jumping off a 100ft cliff is survivable. Sure, maybe a tiny fraction of people could survive, but the vast majority won't. Saying its "safe to jump" isn't right. Its a severe twisting of the real truth.

@GoodoldBob

You didn't answer my question about your wife. Would you encourage her to risk her life? Because most likely she will die.

So typical of an old crusty white man to say "get over it".
