Have you heard about this horrific anti-abortion bill out of Missouri?

Missouri house bill 2810 would make abortion at 10 weeks a Class A felony. That means 10-30 years in prison. It also criminalizes abortion for ectopic pregnancies. This is a pregnancy where the fertilized egg implants outside the uterus. It is nonviable and there’s no medical science or technology to change that. Ectopic pregnancies are so dangerous for women that they are the cause of 10% of all pregnancy-related deaths and the leading cause of death in the first trimester. So the Missouri GOP is giving women a choice to either die or spend 30 years in prison. Draconian.

I think it is stupid that all these Republican states keep passing more and more ridiculous state laws. We already have a federal law on the books...unless the supreme court changes it.

The bills being proposed and passed have nothing to do with the fetus/ child because, with the same pen, they cut funds that support mothers and children.

I know Randi1125...I live in Kansas City MO. but had not heard of this bill.
@PTCdresser57 I believe that’s the long range plan. Pass a law so ridiculous it’s challenged all the way up to the federal court—then attack Roe v. Wade. With a conservative majority, game over. And then basically, U.S. women are dealing with our own version of Sharia law.

Agreed bijouxbroussard...I think that is the GOP plan.

@PTCdresser57 The Supreme Court has given every indication that five justices (that’s all that’s needed) are ready to overturn Roe v. Wade this summer. All the liberals on the Court plus Roberts are not enough to stop them, so laws like this one will take effect.

I know what to expect Theyitis. This court does not adhere to what other supreme courts usually did. In the past...very few times did a new supreme court over rule what a previous supreme court ruled.

Another step into taking women’s rights, health, and most importantly lives! I’m fearful to see what comes next.
