War war war, what is it good for (for for)

War-uh, what is it good for-tell em, making political movements trendy!

Kinda. Most of us in the modern world look down on air strikes and hostile takeover… of course the pilots look down on the whole thing more, but don’t read into that.

It’s not fair to the citizens to fight the wars of conflicting governments. That’s why we civilized nations prefer to flex a solid sanction to really show the aggressors who’s boss. Of course the people under those same conflicting governments are ultimately the ones who pay the price imposed by those sanctions, but no matter! If people aren’t made to die and are only made to suffer, then we’re doing something right…

You might ask why the general population should be made to suffer at all for a grown man throwing a tantrum, but you won’t ask that because a man with a tantrum and firing squads at the ready is a dangerous man indeed.
I can hear the crowd cry out: “Okay okay, what if we didn’t allow people with quick tempers to be in control of firing squads and nuclear missiles?” And to that I say…. Easy easy 🤫 we don’t want the gestapo to hear us down here!

I think we all know the answer to that. Nothing seduces a citizen like a red-faced moron who will burn the entire earth to the ground before they let even a single hair of a single citizen be shed by the enemies of the world. Of course if hair is shed because of the actions of the moron, that’s okay because ultimately everyone will have a greater wealth of hair in the future!

By the time the citizens realize that they haven’t any more hair to show despite their support of the moron, it will be too late. They will see that all their support just went to make a hairy situation. Now they themselves will get to clean up the mess through either blood, or paying the price of sanctions.
How unfair is that. One man with a tantrum injures millions of people and pays nothing himself.

Perhaps we could 👀 remove 👀 the moron from power. But that would cause an uproar! If the people of the world want to remove someone from power that would cause a world war. But if a moron in power wants to remove someone else in power, that will cause a sanction.

The moral of the story is if you don’t want a hairy situation, elect someone who won’t be jealous of your hair.
The second moral of the story is that just because most people in the world are civilized and decent, many of the political systems that govern those decent people are easily exploited by morons and maniacs.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we elected non-morons and non-maniacs who could “civilize” our nuclear launch codes rather than use nuclear warfare to “civilize” governments they disagree with.

The trouble is, the sort of people who are attracted to power are precisely the sort of people who should never be given one iota thereof.

@CorvusBlackthorne I think that’s true in part, but most people are attracted to power in one way or another.
