The bottom line as to why we are not helping Ukraine is: The U.S. and NATO are cowards and are afraid to face Russia.

No. If Russia closes the gas pipelines, Germany and France to name a few will be in deep freeze. Second, Russia is one of Europe’s best business partner. Sanctions against them hurts NATO nations as well.
3rd Russia is the world’s 2nd is oil reserves, they really can make our lives a living hell even if it hurts them too.
It’s like one of those family member you can’t punish because it’s gonna hurt you too 😄

@eMortal Russia exports around 4-5 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude and another 2-3 million bpd of refined products. China, the European Union, South Korea, India and Japan are its main buyers. You'll notice the US isn't even on the list.

And it's not hurting us to help Europe at all.

January saw most LNG shipped to Europe from U.S.

The U.S. became Europe’s largest source of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in 2021, accounting for 26% of all LNG imported by European Union member countries.

In January 2022, the United States supplied more than half of all LNG imports into Europe for the month.

Exports of LNG from the United States to EU-27 and the UK increased from 3.4 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) in November 2021 to 6.5 Bcf/d in January 2022—the most LNG shipped to Europe from the United States on a monthly basis to date, according to the U.S. Department of Energy’s LNG Monthly reports and our own estimates, which are based on LNG shipping data.

If prices go up at our pumps, you can thank capitalism.

@Graylight The US LNG is more likely expensive to Europeans.
