The majority of people who claim "Israel has no right to exist" live in the colonized Americas. This is a problem.

I really don't see what makes Israel obligated to adhere to commands given from hypocrites who continue living on land that was violently stolen by people who committed ethnic genocide. What exactly makes this ok but what Israel is doing "wrong"?

All land is stolen land. No people have lived continuously on the land where Homo sapiens evolved. The land of the Americas was transferred to the arriving Europeans via the real estate transfer protocol the natives used, conquest.

The Israelis have as much a historical claim to the land as anyone else.
@redredred I disagree, no war proclaimed such a decree. It was beaurcraticly installed, not naturally. Not that I oppose their religious beliefs. I do strongly oppose their claim of ownership of the land. They did not win it, fair & square.

@redredred I normally feel all warm and fuzzy when somebody I usually disagree with is on the same page as I am. But in your case, it actually makes me feel nauseated.
redredred · M
@checkoutanytime Fair? What does fair have to do with it? War? The Israelis have the land based on a historical claim and kicking Arab ass in three wars the Arabs started but didn’t bother to declare.

Want a humiliating defeat? Attack Israel.
redredred · M
@LordShadowfire Good, hope you aspirate on your vomit.
@redredred that's what I'm pi@ed off about. Yes Isreal has a historic name, no Isreal has no claim to governmental ownership of land, without American tax payers, I want my earned retributions, and I want it now!!!
redredred · M
@checkoutanytime they fought the Arabs in three wars the Arabs started. That’s a pretty convincing claim. Conquest is how most real estate changed hands throughout history. Whats your issue with it?
@redredred the coalition, Isreal, has not been a government until the nazis came upon the scene. Everything that inpowers modern Isreal, I'm very conflicted with, as a moderate Bible reader. I label modern Isreal as blasphemous, disgraceful, lepordacy. Modern day witchcraft, absolute LIES.
redredred · M
@checkoutanytime The US government didn’t exist until the founders kicked British ass. You can label Israel any way you choose (lepordacy?) but that has no effect on realpolitik
@redredred times are changing, when the allies formed an Isreal, there was no www. If there had been, Isreal would still be a historic Nation.
redredred · M
@checkoutanytime is there any significance to that statement? Can you tell me the importance of the internet to the Balfour declaration?
@redredred Americans voted down the league of nations, had they been properly informed they absolutely would not support the UN'S modern day Isreal. Yes, it's very significant!
MickRogers · 26-30, M
@checkoutanytime Israel has quite literally won every war that has ever been tossed against them.
@MickRogers since when? The gentiles defeated them? I don't have despise for Jewish people, but they absolutely are NOT Isrealites.
MickRogers · 26-30, M
@checkoutanytime Every war that the Arabs has ever thrown against the Israelis, Israel won.

That's all I'm pointing out.
@MickRogers no they didn't! There's been no Isreal state since pre A.D.
LordShadowfire · 100+, M
@checkoutanytime Oh, so the fact that the Romans stole their land means they don't have a right to exist?

@checkoutanytime This has got to be one of the dumbest arguments I've ever heard in favor of being anti-israel.
@MickRogers it all adds up, or I'd not come to such a conclusion. It's the money trail that gave it away.
redredred · M
@checkoutanytime I asked you about the internet and Balfour. Can you address Balfour and the Zionists?

@redredred
All land is stolen land.

'Stolen' by force or simple occupation. Yes this is quite true but has little bearing on 'where we're at now.' Stealing land by force (although still practiced) is generally seen as immoral, and condemned by all but the perpetrators (and perhaps their military/economic allies). Despite precedent, in general it's not something I personally support or admire.

How the Jewish people came to be regarded as they are by their detractors, and how they came to face their historic ostracism must be a hugely complex subject extremely difficult to untangle. I would observe however - without bias towards Jews - that if a group of people present themselves as stick-together special and distinct from everyone else, they are at risk of irrational backlash.

@Really So when the Irish take back Ulster are they right or wrong?the British took it from Ireland a long time ago so to whom does Ulster rightfully belong?

Historically, the land of Israel belonged to the people we today call Jews. The Romans tried to stamp them out but there was a persistent albeit small Jewish presence in Jerusalem. If, like the Irish, the Jews took it back was that wrong?
Really · 80-89, M
@redredred Well you can't assert that all land is stolen and then ask to whom does some of it "rightfully belong" - or which occupier is 'right' and which is 'wrong'.

The history you mention is certainly interesting but for me has no practical bearing on how Arabs & Jews treat each other in the interest of peace and common humanity.
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@redredred The Jews stole it from the Jebusites.

Theodor Herzl came up with a plan to steal it from the Palestinians, and Rothschild made it happen.

Rothschild created Israel, forcing the British government to sign Balfour declaration

@redredred There was just a handful of Jews in Palestine at the end of the 19th Century. The land got flooded with European Jews who displaced the indigenous people to create a new country. They were not native to the land but foreigners. Israelis are a new nationality.
