I think most have never lived under the circumstances that ordinary people do and have no idea what is needed for the majority of the population. Also as others have pointed out power corrupts them too.
@GeniUs The career politicians who have had a parent in politics, they are as slick as snot. I am thinking one in particular from Oklahoma. They make sure their offspring can profit off of what they have learned too.
