Let's go over the definition of "median" one more time. Half the population is above the median; half below it. So based on the image you posted, it's fair and accurate to say half the population is above 38.2. Right? Right.

So we agree, half the population is above 38.2. Now, for half the population to ALSO be above 55, that would mean the whole above 38.2 cohort is ALSO above 55. Which would mean there's a giant gap between 38.2 and 55 with ZERO POPULATION in it!! We know that's absurd, right??

Maybe you don't understand what average population means. Perhaps if you explain your understanding of "average" I can correct your errors.
