Former Proud Boys leader to become Obama-like "Community Organizer"

Enrique Tarrio was just released after 128 days in prison after pleading guilty to burning a BLM flag and carrying high-capacity ammunition mags prior to 1/6/21. His status with the Proud Boys is unclear given he turned government informant and admits he feeds the media conflicting reports of his status in order to discredit mainstream media. He tells The New Times he plans to become a community organizer in his hometown of Miami.
Without getting into detail, Tarrio says he intends to create a new organization focused on "political activism" and organizing around right-wing causes — not dissimilar to one of his previous ventures, Latinos for Trump, a grassroots political nonprofit where he served as state director for Florida and then chief of staff. His idea is to use the experience from Latinos for Trump and the connections he made with the Proud Boys to organize people in local politics, including school-board meetings, city-council meetings, and municipal elections.

Tarrio sees this new venture as the next step in the arc of what he calls the "MAGA movement" that started with former President Donald Trump. While the ideology of the group he wants to rally leans right of center, he doesn't describe it as strictly "Republican" or "conservative," but more as a collection of people who supported Trump after feeling disenfranchised.
Yeah.....well.....Tarrio and others have just been charged with "seditious conspiracy"....which is the legal term for all out treason. All of them face max 20 prison sentences as of yesterday. No hand slaps this time.

@anythingoes477 Tarrio is not among the 11 charged with seditious conspiracy. He was in jail at the time.
Hahaha so they totally abandoned the cause for the man himself cuz theyre sad now waaa how pathetic
A right-wing community organizer is not "Obama-like." It's unfortunate how that term was linked with Obama, as right wingers now view it as someone who follows Alinsky's Rules for Radicals in an effort to turn America communist.

Most community organizers are not left or right wing at all.

@LeopoldBloom I agree. I threw in the "Obama-like" because Proud Boys and their fellow travelers were the ones who liked to rake Obama over the coals claiming he, and all community organizers, were the reincarnation of Alinsky. Now, ironically, he wants to be one.
@dancingtongue Technically, the Proud Boys are community organizers already.
@LeopoldBloom now that was click bait.. it got ya to look.
Sadly, "community organizer" sounds awfully similar to "troublemaker."

We could maybe talk about good trouble and bad trouble, but as a profession, both sound as neutral as, say, "advocate."

@MistyCee Devil's in the details, as they say. I just thought it ironic that after all the grief those of his political views gave Obama for his past efforts as a community organizer, he decides to become one himself.
