Do you try to avoid discussing politics on here?

I've cut back a bit, but I sometimes go down the rabbit hole lol.

Nah. If anything, I just consciously bait the people who do into blocking me to clear out the human clutter.

The problem with "politics" on a site like this is that it rarely means "politics", so much as "dumb culture warriors misguidedly thinking their dumb moral ideology of choice isn't dumb". Inability to conceptually extract any given topic entirely from its ethical context in the North American culture wars is tantamount to an admission that you have nothing to say about it, so demonstrating that you [i]do[/i] have that ability kind of has to be the starting point before any adult-level conversation about politics is going to happen. But as it turns, it is an ability most people don't have.

I'm a very political person and I talk about it but less tham I once did.

Unfortunately some of the users on the section are just into name-calling or trolling. I completely get why so many people find that off-putting.

My rule is that I'm always polite to people unless they are dishonest or aggressive. Its good to have empathy with people you disagree with. If people are rude though, it's OK to take the piss.

Most of the time, yes. Politics are for stupid people. Whenever I do address politics, it’s just to post about my own input on something political… or to talk about how much I hate politics, lol. But I don’t go out of my way to actually [i]discuss[/i] it with anyone anymore. Most people who talk politics are overzealous idiots, plain and simple. I’ll be damned before I get associated with that crowd.

Yes I avoid the political and religious posts on here by scrolling by as fast as I can!

Yes I do because due to life circumstances and experiences this child of an immigrant father is not a big fan of refugees that pervade the state I live in. You can't say that though even if you're not white so I keep my mouth shut about crime, lack of safety, and hostility.

Yep, because if I dare I normally get someone getting really sour and itchy on their backside or telling me I don't have the right to speak because I'm not from the US.

If I have any strong views on anything political, sure as fate someone will feel just as strongly for the opposite view.

I hate talking about politics. As much as I hate it, it somehow manages to seep it's way into the things that I love; Star Wars.... for example

Nope. And I stand pretty much very well on my own reguarding politics. I don't let other get to me. It's all opinions anyway.

I try to avoid [b]initiating[/b] political discussions. I’ve cut back on that a lot. But occasionally, if someone else is posting something I question, I may wade on in—or not. Depends on my mood.

I try to avoid but sometimes I get sucked in
