Political reality in the U.S.

Its amazing how sanctimonious people are about "privelege" when they are seeking to better their circumstance not through their own hard work, but by taking from what others worked to earn.

Three of the smartest people I ever met in my life were poor, inner city young men of color. Their families taught them the value of education and prioritized that in their lives. They earned full ride scholarships at private colleges and went on to very distinguished careers. There are many other examples of this today. I've seen several others personally who worked hard and rose, albeit to more normal levels of success like the rest of us.

From acceptance at colleges, elligibility for aid/sudsidized loans and hiring quotas/affirmative action .. there are designed programs and opportunities to help people of color succeed. I've seen this in person in hiring to fill positions in industry and again as my sons sought to enter college and now the workforce.

Racism is real .. no doubt. The reality is that there are a lot of other factors that hold a lot of people back .. including their own life choices.
Good meme. Says it all.
