To Covid Vax or Not to Covid Vax

Firstly, I did not get Vaxed.
I wasn't brainwashed into not wanting it by Fox News or Qanon.
I feel it was pushed through too quickly. There hasn't been enough time, in my personal opinion, to know what the big picture will bring.

A few things bother me about the many arguments I have participated in and seen on here regarding this.
If a person wants to take measures to attempt to not get this virus than by all means get the Vax. Why do I have to get it for you to be safe from it??? This confuses me.

The last thing I saw mentioned the over crowded E-Rooms because of the un-vaxed getting the virus. Wouldn't this imply that we should also ban mass transit being as if a bus or train has a crash then more people than an E-Room can handle could need treatment??

It seems to be an easy choice either way you lean but proof dictates that it isn't that simple.
No one is arguing over the Flu Vax. Aren't people worried that if I don't get it then they may contract it even though they have taken that Vax??

Apparently I am missing a keystone in my tunnel because I am lost on this.

I'm not getting vaxxed. I had COVID back in a January (it felt like a mild cold at worst) and I have antibodies. I'm good, I don't need or want an experimental serum that hasn't been properly tested injected inside my body.

So you had it and luckily survived EmperorOfIceCream...you do realize those antibodies that your body created are for that strain...not the mutations?
What about family and friends...wouldn't you want the added protection for them?

@PTCdresser57 They are choosing not to get it but for medical reasons. I'm not worried or scared about mutations. It happens all the time with the flu, I haven't had a flu shot in about 17 years and I can't even remember the last time I had the flu. I'm not going to uproot my life and live in fear of a virus, one of many that we live with and one that has a 99.9% survival rate. I accept and have made complete peace with the fact that I am going to die of something someday, which is why I would rather enjoy time here instead of cowering in fear over what possibly may kill me.

It isn't about fear EmperorOfIceCream...it is about respecting the virus and compassion for the rest of society. I think that is what is lost in this day and age.

@SW-User See I felt the same way as you do.
I also had it. Well I had Covid pneumonia which apparently is different that regular pneumonia. Have to go to the ICU for eight miserable days where the treatment was ... wait for it ... experimental steroids. LOL. No matter what I was a lab rat. It worked with me but not for others I knew.

@PTCdresser57 I'm not responsible for the health and well-being of another adult, same as they are not responsible for my health and well-being. I look at this vaccine as a choice. If someone wants to get it, great. They made the decision that best suits them. If someone doesn't want to get it, great. Its their choice.
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
That is exactly what I was saying EmperorOfIceCream. In older days...30's through the 70's...when there was a pandemic of sorts...others got vaccinated to protect themselves and others.
Now days it is always about ones self and no one else.

@PTCdresser57 Okay, let's make each other a promise then. Whenever you get sick, consult me first before you do anything. You're a complete stranger, but I will be taking over all of your health decisions from now on, because even though you're another adult.....your health and well-being are 100% my responsibility now.....on top of all the other responsibilities I have in my own life. I will go to every doctor appointment with you, I will speak for you, and I will decide what's best for you. You will be doing all of this when it comes to MY health and well-being....which is now 100% YOUR responsibility. If you refuse to make MY health decisions for me or tell me what's best for me, a complete and total stranger, then you are not compassionate.

Let's shake on it and make this promise to each other. I could also make your diet decisions for you if you like.

@Dainbramadge I see you laughing there at my totally 100% serious post. Did you really pick those clothes to wear today? As a compassionate citizen who is responsible for everyone else around him, I would be remiss if I didn't inquire why you chose to wear those particular clothes today.....also, what did you eat for breakfast this morning? Did you have a healthy bowel movement afterwards? You need to eat something healthy for lunch....remember YOUR decisions could potentially affect those around you and its my job to tell you what's best for you, for the good of the collective.

Lol🤣🤪

@SW-User Same. I stayed home, survived it. We now have better (natural) immunity than any vaccine can ever give us. The immune system is only made stronger. I also know many others who had it, stayed home, took care and recovered.
