NBC鈥檚 Vicky Nguyen gave viewers some tips on how to save money this Thanksgiving.

This year will be the most expensive Thanksgiving holiday ever thanks to Bidenflation.

Nguyen said people can save money by ditching the Turkey (the staple of a Thanksgiving meal) and by charging guests.

I actually listened to that segment. It was difficult, though. 馃ぃ As I recall, one of her suggestions was to make it an Italian Thanksgiving...with pasta.

@4meAndyou well you know different families have their favorite traditional dishes that most of us don鈥檛 usually have. The boy was talking last week about his grandma always making baked macaroni & cheese and potato salad at Thanksgiving. He had never told me about that before. I think it was because she had a football player teen and several other other big eaters and had to spread her grocery budget by making those dishes so everyone would be able to fill up.

@cherokeepatti Yup. Very true. But if you are a traditional turkey type, you feel deprived...VERY deprived...if you can't have it.

A lot of people have turkey on Christmas day, also, but my brother's partner was raised by an Brazilian Italian mother, and SHE always made little hard as golf balls meatballs with soggy overcooked spaghetti on Christmas. I was a bit traumatized, as you might guess...馃ぃ

@4meAndyou soggy pasta, al dente is how real Italians cook it.

@cherokeepatti I took a bite or two...I can't even describe how hungry I was...(I almost cried because I couldn't eat that, no matter how hungry)...and then filled up on salad and bread. I tried to soften the rudeness by saying my eyes were bigger than my stomach, and tried to sneak my plate out to the kitchen and give the hard meatballs to their dogs, but my brother's partner followed me and told me HE would eat them...that he LOVES them...takes all kinds, you know?

@4meAndyou I learned to make meatballs smaller and cook them in tomato sauce and that makes them tender. Also make a meatball with rice & cinnamon tomato soup and cook the same way. The boy loves both of those.

@cherokeepatti That sounds really good! Unfortunately, my brother's partner likes them hard, unseasoned, and really DRY...and they don't use real spaghetti sauce. They use tomato sauce out of a can...then cook the pasta for 20 minutes...馃槤
