"a member of a self-appointed group of citizens who undertake law enforcement in their community without legal authority, typically because the legal agencies are thought to be inadequate."
BLM and Antifa thought that police were inadequate when George Floyd died, so they became the worst vigilantes I've ever seen.
Kyle might be called a vigilante for having to do the work that cops were forbidden to do by their corrupt liberal mayors/governors, but he was about protecting the city from an entire mob of vigilantes.
The mob wanted to punish ONE cop, so in doing so, they burnt down businesses owned by innocent business owners all across the country.
It's odd that CNN, MSNBC and Brandon never called these thugs "vigilantes" for seeking the justice they thought Saint George deserved.
During the trial in Kenosha, did you ever hear the prosecution or any liberal on this site question why the BLM/Antifa vigilantes crossed the state line?

I don't think the mob were vigilantes. They were a mob of angry supporters of chaos...those who adhere to the principles of destruction. Calling BLM and Antifa vigilantes pre-supposes that they want the law to prevail and nothing could be further from the truth. BLM are violent Marxists, and Antifa are violent supporters of complete chaos. They have allied.
Their mantra is "Burn it Down". Mobs are motivated by group think, and anger. It should be noted that the ranks of most mobs are peppered with criminals who want to take advantage of the overall violence to steal, loot, and indulge their general criminal tendencies. ALL three of the men shot by Kyle Rittenhouse were criminals with real records.
Guarding a business might be the work of a security guard, but we never call security guards "vigilantes". Nor do we consider that security guards are attempting to do the work of cops.
Kyle's reactions during the time he was separated from his friends were simply those of a young man who was terrified and was forced to defend himself.
@4meAndyou PS. I just learned that the city of Portland Police have declared a riot after the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict. Portland and Seattle are hot beds of antifa and a group called Pacific Northwest Youth Liberation Front.
"The Pacific Northwest Youth Liberation Front, a group comprised of anti-capitalist and anti-fascist teens, has been blamed for playing a major role in the weeks of unrest unfolding in Portland, a report Sunday said."
This group will continue to be the seed bed for antifa and they will travel all across the country if necessary to be sure there are riots where politically expedient.
@4meAndyou I also want to mention the group standing behind a banner at the Kenosha courthouse, RevCom.US, which is a communist revolutionary group. Mobs and revolutions are about as far as you can get from the real law.
