So what did we learn from the Rittenhouse trial?

Because it feels like the lesson is 'shoot back'. Is the law really going to rule "Last one alive is innocent"?

That's not the lesson. The real lesson is democracy means you can't always have your own way. And, that a poorly administered prosecution never leads to a conviction. And, finally and perhaps most important, using violence to solve a problem never is ideal for anyone concerned.
