Who Will Be There?

When Spain threatened to rule all of Europe, Britain stood in her way.

When Napoleon stood on the verge of conquering all of Europe, Britain and the Seventh Coalition stood in his way.

When Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy and Imperial Japan threatened the freedom of the whole world, the United States and her Allies stood in their way.

But if the United States with the return of Trump joins China and Russia as an authoritarian state, who will be there to defend what's left of freedom in the world?

I’m not terribly stressed tbh. US under Trump was too dysfunctional for any major actions. It would be even more so the second time around. Plus, him running is the best chance of a Biden re-election lmao.

Come on--China and Russia are hated by 80% of Americans, and trunp hates China...and we would never at the present join with Russia doing anything...and China and Russia are not exactly good friends...

@Docdon23

You're making the mistake in thinking that public opinion polls mean anything to an authoritarian state.

@beckyromero Look, I am not a fan of trunp at all, and do realize he wants to turn us much more authoritarian, but we are a long way from joining Russia and China to do what, conquer the world?? Our military leaders would never allow that, if the government pushed it...we do have many checks in our system, and opinion polls DRIVE political action...even trunp is smart enough to closely watch what the public wants--he got elected by appealing to what many people wanted...and I am not a supporter...

You think we'd have a military coup?

They couldn't even accomplish that in Nazi Germany which they were losing badly. What makes you think it would work here in 'peacetime'?

Besides you don't think that Trump would make sure there are loyalists in key positions? That's what he was doing in October to December last year with the Cabinet and firing those of questionable loyalty and letting acting secretaries hold power. Next time he won't be as slow.

Opinion polls in an authoritarian state only show what the state wants the polls to show.
Nobody can handle all three at once... Or 4, because they'll probably get North Korea on their side too.
The leftovers pretty much. No country should have the position of super power.
