Biden Shutting Down Pipeline That Supplies Energy To Midwest

The Biden administration is reviewing the possible ramifications of shutting down a key pipeline transporting crude oil and natural gas from Canada to Michigan.

“We have a state in Michigan that uses the most residential propane in the nation,” said Jason Hayes, the director of environmental policy for the Mackinac Center for Public Policy. “And yet, we’re seriously considering shutting down this pipeline and giving these people not even two or three months notice, just basically saying, ‘well, sorry, you’re gonna be on your own.’”

Line 5 carries about 540,000 barrels of oil and gas per day from Canada to Michigan, which relies on the pipeline for most of its propane needs, according to its operator Enbridge.

So now the question is;

Is it worse to abandon citizens in a foreign country - left to be hunted down and killed,

OR

Needlessly remove a key resource from citizens at home so they can freeze to death at home?

the problem is that it's not needlessly. I just learned that the oil that comes from Canada comes form oil sands, and the method of extracting the oil is highly polluting and a major contributor to greenhouse gases. so people will have to find an alternative energy source. he's not dooming them to freezing to death. he is trying to save the planet.

@Penny

Does he care if they freeze?
Penny · 46-50, F
@JimBeam well, seeing as they are looking at the potential ramifications then id say yes

How are these people in Northern Michigan supposed to find an alternative energy source that no one else has discovered? And, they ARE doomed if num-nut Biden cuts off their source of fuel.

So, Biden will need to bring in a lot of body bags?

@Budwick Pellet Stoves. Once the appliance of choice for home heating, wood stoves are making a comeback of sorts thanks to higher-efficiency, cleaner-burning pellet stoves.
Solar Heating. There are two forms of solar heating: active and passive. ...
Under-floor Heating. Radiant heat does not always require solar power. .

@Penny OK, it's now November.
I looked up pellet stoves, they look really interesting.
Apparently you can get one that can heat a 2,000 square foot hone for about $4,000 + plus installation and I'm guessing you need a hydronic [like radiators] to use it. If you have hot air then the install of the pipes is extra. And, if you need to heat your water, that', more money. And, If Crazy Joe shuts down the pipe line now, we're a little short of time.

But, abandoning people in Afghanistan worked out OK.

I do admit that pellet stoves look interesting.
Penny · 46-50, F
@Budwick they dont cost that much. all you need is a vent to the outside. its not like they would shut it down all of a sudden. im sure they are looking into alternatives for people and wouldnt leave them stranded without heat.

Yeah, you have greater faith in government that me.

Biden very publicly abandoned people in Afghanistan.
People that served the USA.
You know they STILL can't drink the water in Flint, MI?

All that aside, those pellet stoves are interesting.
Penny · 46-50, F
@Budwick yeah i knew a couple people who had them. they gave off nice heat.
@Penny Most people in northern Michigan are low income, how are they supposed to pay for all of this change?
Penny · 46-50, F
@istillhaveanameitsrick im sure the government would take that into consideration
Penny · 46-50, F
@istillhaveanameitsrick poeple are getting free solar energy lately in exchange for the companies getting the excess generated form your panels. i kow a woman who got paid 2000 dollars to install solar panels on her house
@Penny You are EXACTLY right on this.................but do you think that radicalized Trump cheerleader gay boy will believe you? Not one chance in hell will he. $20 says he'll diss you for giving facts..........but he'll EVER give you any back....and the longer you argue the faster he'll end up name calling you for saying something factual.

You're exactly right on what you said. He just still really butthurt for the ass kicking Brandon gave him. ;-)
