Did any of your ancestors come from a place that was wiped off the map?

It's not wiped off the map but it's no longer accessible for them or their descendents

Yeah, some of my ancestors were from the British Isles, and that place was only inhabitable thanks to a land bridge that popped up during a glacial period. I'd say it's a near certainty that those ancient people lived on that land bridge somewhere down the line before it was swallowed by the sea again.

Mine came from France, Canada, England, so all those places still exist.

Not wiped off the map, but has gone through continual changes in nationality and political authority which is why they fled.
