A recent Pew Research poll found that 63% of Republicans said their party shouldn't tolerate criticism of Trump from elected officials

Compared with 43% of Democrats who say the same.

I'm sorry, but if a majority do not tolerate criticism of the Leader, they are a cult.

Which means the Republican Party is now a cult! Fact!

Either figure is shameful. It's a matter of degree.

@SW-User I gather you were part of the survey?

I don’t think so. I have been verbally attacked by people when I dare to challenge the leadership skills of President Obama and have been accused of being a white elitist.

I’ve also had people recoil in horror when I found some things that Trump did that were good for the country.

And when I suggest that Biden is only marginally more effective than Trump, everyone gets pissed off.

There is a lot of banner waving on both sides of the political spectrum.
I've seen better reasons to call it a cult, tbh.

Throughout history, a lot of people have been monarchists.

Not that I think it's good, but this isn't nearly as troubling to me, for instance, as people agreeing thst violence is justified.
@MistyCee Ironically, Conservatism originates from monarchism.

I'm curious where they found so many Democrats that were against criticizing Trump.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
That’s not very strong logic. 😂

You just figured that out?

Yeah cult of personality.
This is scary shit.

There's no shortage of zombie-like, Pavlovian partisanship. When did people decide not to think for themselves?
