Word, actions and having a soul

Former Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, as well as former first ladies Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush and Michelle Obama, are joining Welcome.US as honorary co-chairs "to lift up everyone else involved and remind us that this is our opportunity, in a time of all too much division, for common purpose," the group's website states.

And Donald Trump? In a statement on Tuesday, former President Donald Trump claimed that there is “NO VETTING” of refugees coming to America from Afghanistan. He went on to ask: “How many terrorists will Joe Biden bring to America? We don’t know!”

I am not fan of Trump but I am also not a fan of former presidents using this to whitewash their own misdeeds in Afghanistan (Clinton excluded).

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow This is superficial at best and shows a remarkable desire on your part to paint everyone involved in the darkest light possible. You need to learn how to view events objectively.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I agree these were players in the debacle that has been Afghanistan. But if good can come of a situation, I rarely care where it comes from.
@Graylight I agree but I also think with groups and charities it is a good idea to be selective of who you enlist as spokesman. This feels a bit like the arsonist society sponsoring a firefighter charity or fund.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow 🤔 Gonna have to ponder that one.
