CDC Changed Definitions Of Vaccine And Vaccination Over The Weekend

Before the change, the definition for “vaccination” read, “the act of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce immunity to a specific disease.” Now, the word “immunity” has been switched to “protection.”

The term “vaccine” also got a makeover. The CDC’s definition changed from “a product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease” to the current “a preparation that is used to stimulate the body’s immune response against diseases.”

Some people have speculated that the unannounced changes were the CDC’s attempt to hide the fact COVID-19 vaccines are not 100% effective at preventing coronavirus infection. U.S. Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky said in a popular tweet the CDC has “been busy at the Ministry of Truth.”

Covid is just one more vax that isn't a vax by the old CDC definition of a vax. You could add flu, measles, chickenpox, mumps to that category as well. They halted flights from Afghanistan because of a measles out break. Isn't everyone vaxed against measles? If so then why the halt unless the vax doesn't work. When I was a kid we often went to school with measles. It made your skin itchy but once the rash was no longer on your face.... You were good to go!

@hippyjoe1955 German measles is the one that is dangerous for pregnant women, can cause severe birth defects
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti It can. That doesn't mean it will. I had German measles multiple times when I was a kid. I got the red measles when I was an adult and got very sick with it. I have never had measles again. The red measles gave me life time immunity.
@hippyjoe1955 I'm curious. Do you think the vaccines are vaccines under the new definition?
Budwick · 70-79, M
@MistyCee I think the Covid vaccine is not a vaccine under that original definition, which is why they changed the definition.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@MistyCee Probably not. They are about compliance not health. The government is engaged in a HUGE power grab at the moment and it is using the fear it created to get people to do things that is contrary to their wellbeing both physically and socially. Look at the division they have been able to cause.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
What do you think? @MistyCee
@jackjjackson I didn't have a problem with the old definition, myself, and have always assumed that nothing is 100% effective.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
I agree with that assumption and see it as a distinction without a difference rather than some clever plot. @MistyCee
@jackjjackson Yeah, I definitely don't see the mind-control, turn us Citizens into Commie Zombies thing as a major motivation for the CDC.

On the other hand, effectively communicating with the public these days is a real problem for the CDC as well as just about everyone else, and I kind of applaud the flexibility in attempting to communicate through the fog that deliberate disinformation and distrust of the other has created.

I'm not sure it will work, of course, but it seems worth a shot to try.

@MistyCee
effectively communicating with the public these days is a real problem for the CDC
And changing the definition of the target issue you think helps?
Ceee - one of the byproducts of their poor communication is their loss of credibility. They're lying. They have often lied. They are liars.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Budwick Can anyone honestly say they believe a word that comes from the CDC? Not me. They have lost all credibility.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@hippyjoe1955 Agreed.
Poor snowflakes are doomed.
No more trusted source to tell them to not eat yellow snow!
@Budwick Honestly, it seems to me like it's mostly a losing effort to try to talk to a large portion of America these days.

But for the most part, I think it's worth trying.

Do ya think it might have anything to do with all the lying they have done up to now? I mean, you should know better than most. You offer up lies, half truths, innuendos - how's that working out for you?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Budwick sad but true. The greatest disservice the modern education system has instilled is the idea that somewhere out there there is an 'expert' with all the answers. Somewhere buried deep in a text book you can find the truth. You don't need to test or try or question you simply have to find that expert. It has created the religion of scientism. The priests of scientism wear white lab coats and talk to their flock via MSM news outlets like CNN or Fox or ..... No need to question the priest. He has spoken ex cathedra (infallible) even when he is contradicting his ex cathedra proclamation of 5 minutes ago. The CDC changing the definition and all the bobble heads agreeing that the old definition was not what a vaccine was all about is a prime example of just such hive mind group think. Do not question said ex cathedra proclamations or you are a violent person bent on doing evil. You shall be excommunicated, shunned and killed should you even question one so exalted as Fauci.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@hippyjoe1955 One of the things I like the most about you Joe is that there is no guessing needed to know where you stand. And, as usual - you stand on solid rock. Come here you big lug - gimmee a hug!
@Budwick There's probably a kernel of truth in there somewhere, but I tend to think that the bigger problem lies with the promotion of "alternate facts", lack of education and intellectual laziness, along with deliberately exploiting these things.

Good points.
Stop doing that too.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Budwick Sadly it becoming more and more apparent that it is the 'officials' who are spreading misinformation and practicing bad science. When is the last time you ever saw a vaccine roll out like this one? I can't remember one that even comes close. The flu of 1976 and the over reaction bears a slight resemblance but it was stopped after a relative few were injured or died. According to VAERS 70 Americans are dying from the vax every day! 70 a day!!!! Most vaxes get pulled if there are 50 deaths combined. 70 a day! Let that sink in. Now to cover their tracks they are trying to force everyone to get the vax. That is tantamount to evil. An Israeli official was caught on a hot mike saying the vax passport is not about preventing disease it is about forcing compliance. WOW!
