Hellooo, the people fleeing school shootings were actors...
😉
Yes, it does seem odd that for 20 years nobody was holding protests, standing roadside, holding bake sales or charity events for Afghanistan but all of a sudden it's a great humanitarian crisis. Odd, we don't seem nearly as fixated on refugees trying to get into our country from the southern border.
And now that we do care about Afghanistan there's one refrain that rings out again and again. "But the women!" And not to minimize the troubles ahead for all females in Afghanistan, but that is literally the depth of understanding for your typical American citizen.
As long as I'm more likely to see Karen freaking out about the fact someone cut in the Starbucks line than I am about what the Taliban is doing to its own people, I'm going to assume this is one big show of crocodile tears.
