Bloody idiots talking about you - COVID protests!!!!

I'm not really into politics and how a country should be run, but how annoying are these protests during COVID lockdowns? This is the only place I could probably rant about it and I am just so annoyed. I want out of this lockdown and preferably with 0 cases would be nice. But no. Some people just need to suck it up and shut the f up. It's like these people are taking these restrictions as a personal attack. Just chill. Stay at home and shut the f up and shut the front door. Bloody idiots!!!!! Be grateful it isn't a third world country!!! Just go with the flow people!!!! UNGRATEFUL PROTESTORS!!! Be grateful that your country cares about a covid-free zone rather than letting it loose like some other countries who have many people dying!!! BE GRATEFUL!!!!
Edit: Yes I know COVID will never go away but we were able to live covid-free only a few months ago - what happened now? Have people changed their attitudes towards COVID over the past year? We need to get back at it.
And to those who probably aren’t that worried even if they themselves get covid and probably not die from it it isn’t just about that. If we just leave it to luck and let “survival of the fittest” survive, there will still be many people dying and putting a strain o the health system, having an impact on the economy and we still don’t know what impact covid has on us in the long term even to those asymptotic or have survived through it.

I agree with you when the first one occurred, but with today's, I'm starting to feel they're frustration... Most people are doing the right thing... The government seems to have botched it from day 1
@ozgirl512 yeah, the government should have went hard or go home from day 1 but it's too late now. Past is the past we can't change it, just got to focus on the present and right now these bloody protestors are not helping at all. BLOODY IDIOTS!!!! lol

@meetingmeinthepouringrain I agree with what you're saying on a practical level... But I also see their point in protesting over the ineffectual response of the Government

Losing one's freedom of movement and association is a big deal. The virus is not that deadly. It will be gone in a year or so. Do you think you will regain the rights you so willingly surrendered out of fear? As one wag pointed out "You can not comply your way to freedom because the more you comply the less freedom you have". I grew up in the 60s and 70s where we had much more freedom than we do now and without trying to be nostalgic about the bygone era I do wish we had that level of freedom now.
@hippyjoe1955 yeah, I guess if I look at it from the government's perspective, it's probably because if we just let COVID loose and just on the "survivial of the fittest" probably wouldn't matter as much to them, but what probably matters to them is the impact and strain on the health industry, elderly, and economy if valuable workers are dying...and the fact that we don't know the impact of COVID yet, long term at least.

@meetingmeinthepouringrain Given that there has been no strain on the health industry.... Why do we have a health industry? Shouldn't we ban cigarettes, booze, cars, outdoor activities. Maybe we should wrap everyone in bubble wrap so they can't give themselves any boo boos. Covid has NEVER put a strain on the health industry. In fact during the whole pandemic many doctors saw a decrease in patients and many hospitals witnessed the same. Yes there were some patients in ICU but the ICUs were never even close to being over run. One small anecdote. A friend of mine had a broken bone in his hand. He went to the local hospital and was told to go sit in the waiting room until he was called. He went to the waiting room and discovered most of the seating had been removed so the chairs were all six feet apart. On the way to that room he noticed a second waiting room completely empty. Lots of seating there so he sat down and began his wait. A few minutes later a nurse spotted him in the room and demanded that unless he had covid he leave that room. My friend is a nice guy so he got up and stood in the full room until a chair opened up. When he finally got to see the doctor he asked about the covid room and commented how empty it was. The doctor laughed and told him that the covid room had never ever had a patient in it.

@meetingmeinthepouringrain Countries like the U.K are at risk of losing 30% of their care workers simply because of rules surrounding covid. It's time we accepted this virus and prioritized the economy and people's livelihoods as opposed to locking people down or enforcing strict restrictions because of a virus that the vast majority can survive. People like to give the impression that all of the elderly are extremely vulnerable to the virus but even the majority of them have survived it upon being infected.

No signs of a shutdown here. If previous trends are any sign, critical mass is coming soon.

How many pandemics ended by lockdowns?
@MrBrownstone Australia & New Zealand had a pretty good record. South Korea too.
As a political junkie I share your opinion.

suck it up buttercups.
