@yellowsnow
When he was ordered by his commanding officer to take Mount Suribachi, Captain Severance of "Easy Company" sent his 3rd platoon up the mountain under the command of his executive officer, Lt. Harold G. Schrier.
Severance later flew 69 combat missions during the Korean War.

A little snarky tonight, aren't you?
As I said, Captain Severance of "Easy Company" sent his 3rd platoon up the mountain under the command of his executive officer, Lt. Harold G. Schrier.
I would think that is clear enough to mean he is NOT in the photo.
