Calling out Republicans

Their shameful silence on 1/6 with their long professed patriotism and believe in American exceptionalism.

America doesn't look so exceptional right now and the Republicans don't look so patriotic.

I'm not talking about the people who marched on the Capitol. Most of them seem to have been misled and stupid not pure evil.

I'm talking about every Republican in the house but two who defends by their silence or words or actions and attempt to overthrow the government of the United States

And I'm calling out every Republican here to explain why every word of what I said isn't right.

Idiotic post. I don't remember ANY democrat calling for an immediate halt to the riots, burning, looting of cities and disruption of last year. And that went on for months and months. Your rant is ignorant on its face and you're clearly a partisan hack.

I can go on and on including the left's support of the chaos biden created at the border. Talk about looking non-patriotic. 🙄
Thank you. 100% correct. Drove that nail home with one swing. @carpediem
carpediem · 61-69, M
@stratosranger They left it teed up pretty high. And it was a VERY easy target.
@carpediem Please don't feel like you need to go on with more whatabouts or calling OP an idiot for asking a question you can't or won't respond to.

As @stratosranger noted, you're response pretty much "nailed [something] home with one swing."
Ummm, 🤷🏻‍♂️@MistyCee
carpediem · 61-69, M
@MistyCee I responded accurately and appropriately. The fact that you don't like my response...well... 🤷‍♂️
There is a massive difference between facts and opinions. @carpediem
@carpediem I get it. You think his question didn't deserve a response and sort of explained why.

I don't mind that, even, but was hoping you wouldn't feel the need to "go on and on" with more of it.

Obviously, you can, and it's precisely the kind of obstruction to meaningful dialog that folks like Trump and Jordan do.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@stratosranger I stand by my statements.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@MistyCee LOL. Nonsense. The original poster brought this up not me. If democrats weren't hypocrites, they be nothing at all. It was a partisan post designed to be
the kind of obstruction to meaningful dialog
But I find it telling you'd point to me calling out the hypocrisy as the obstructionist.
@carpediem you didn't address the merits of his "partisan post" at all.

Instead, you basically dismissed it.

Can you explain why, at least, it was "ignorant on it's face"?

I know I'm jumping on you, and I don't mean it personally, but I also really don't how Democratic hypocrisy would somehow "make right" alleged Republican wrongs.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@MistyCee Like I have the time or desire to
address the merits of his "partisan post"

It was idiotic and devisive. And you know it was.

The January 6 idiots deserve what they get. I was calling out a hypocrite.
@carpediem It was an obnoxious post for sure, but I have issues with the acquiescence of Republicans in Congress with Trump and have posted some pretty obnoxious posts about it myself.
REInvNJ · 61-69, M
@carpediem if you don't remember you just weren't looking

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/08/13/fact-check-democrats-have-condemned-violence-linked-protests/3317862001/

Lots of Democrats objected to the violent response to George Floyd's death.

Far far more than the number of Republicans willing to investigate what happened on 1/6
@REInvNJ I'm not sure if you want to step into the abyss of whatabouts on top of whatabouts, and ad hominem attacks, but it seems like you just did it.

My guess is, if there was any hope for a rational response, you just sabotaged it by getting down into the dirt like a Second grader.

Which, of course, is your right.

@carpediem I'm going to shut up now. Y'all have fun.
REInvNJ · 61-69, M
@MistyCee Misty what did I say that was second grade?

I'm not the one saying the Republicans choose not to investigate anything that happened on 1/6... They are

I am happy to recognize the patriotism of Cheney and Adam I'd recognize any other house members committed to investigation in the Republican party do you have any
@REInvNJ My second grade comment was in reference to your choosing to defend Democrats on the whatabout, as opposed to insisting on an answer to the allegation you raised.

My guess is, your going to get a "she hit first response" and never get an answer to the question you posed.

If that's what you want, go for it, but my issue, which I don't think should be a left/right or Conservative/liberal, Republican/Democrat one, is that two wrongs don't make a right.

If you want to defend Obama, Hillary, or Biden, go forth, but imo, realize that the minute you do, you're risking buying into an us vs them, ends justify the means situation.
REInvNJ · 61-69, M
@MistyCee I wasn't defending any of those guys. What do you see in when I wrote that made you think I was. I don't defend Rashida Taleebs ideas either I just defend her right to say them at least until she's on the verge of starting an insurrection
@REInvNJ

Lots of Democrats objected to the violent response to George Floyd's death.

Far far more than the number of Republicans willing to investigate what happened on 1/6

Maybe you didn't "defend" all these Democrats, but the minute you resorted to comparing the numbers of them who stuck by Trump's insurrection, I think you lost any (small) chance at getting an honest answer to the question you asked.
REInvNJ · 61-69, M
@MistyCee you are certainly right about the radicalized core, but honestly I think I lost them when I didn't quote one of their talking points.

I wasn't writing to them I was writing to you, and I'm glad you took the time to engage.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@MistyCee LOL. Thanks...I wouldn't want you to wind up as collateral damage. That being said, it's a waste of time. He's entitled to his delusions. If he wants to play in the cesspool he can do it without me.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@carpediem hell them dems encouraged people to riot and destroy
carpediem · 61-69, M
@MarineBob Absolutely true.
@carpediem One sides bad deeds does not excuse the other sides bad deeds. I see you have no problem condemning the lefts bad behavior, but can you do the same for the right's bad behavior?
That's one nice thing about not being aligned with either party...you can call them both out for their idiocy.
carpediem · 61-69, M
@TheSentinel I was answering the idiotic post. Why do you think I need to be fair when he wasn't? If you don't like what I said well....I don't care. 🤷‍♂️
@carpediem No one is requiring that you care.
And just as with you I was voicing my opinion on a comment that caught my attention.
