Survey: Students Are Ashamed Of Being American After College Education

Liberals will generally deny that 'higher education' schools are simply paid indoctrination camps. But, this survey provides some valuable insight.

College students are cultivating an increasingly pessimistic view of the United States and their futures as their national pride deteriorates in university classrooms across the nation, a newly published American College Student Freedom, Progress and Flourishing Survey confirms.

More than half of self-identified liberal students say they have developed a more negative view of the United States as a result of their higher education curriculum, while nearly one-third of students who identified as conservative shared their growing pessimism about America, according to the annual college student survey.

Political ideology significantly impacts students’ national pride.

While 52 percent of students say they are proud to be American, most of the patriotic students are conservative.

“A majority of conservative students (86 percent) are proud to be American compared to 38 percent of those who identify as liberal students and 59 percent of self-identified independents,” the survey notes.

Conservative students are significantly less inclined to accept the paradigm about American presented in the classroom. Eighty-one percent of liberal students say “college is giving them a more accurate picture of the U.S.” while “only 44 percent of conservative students” trust what they are being told about America.

So you are telling me liberals go to college, get a more broad worldview and think: this country could do so much better!

Whereas conservatives go to college, deny reality and claim: America's the best no matter what facts are put before me!

And you somehow think the latter is preferable?

@ViciDraco I know liberals that deny the entire history of soviet Russia and the institute for social research in Germany. And then try to feel better about the the fact that they are obese, necked bearded min wage slaves by laughing at some strawman about the ‘right’ they confected in their dopamine overdriven brains

@pianoplayingsteve nice strawman about the left u just used while complaining about a non-existent strawman about the right

@sweetcheekz there are literally several people in my social circle like that. Both in appearance and ideology. It seems whenever someone claims something that doesn’t fit into your biases, it’s a strawman

@pianoplayingsteve you are literally making claims about all liberals based on a small percentage of them. That is a strawman. It's so disingenuous.

@pianoplayingsteve @sweetcheekz Soviet apologists are usually "Tankies" or authoritarian leftists, which are very different from American liberals that tend to be center to center right.

@ViciDraco well from what I’ve seen of the person I was responding to, if I’m going to comment on individual behavior I’ve observe, and their response is ‘you must be taking about group x! It’s actually group y!’ And then makes statements about how people like me apparently think, then I think they must be authoritarian to some degree
sweetcheekz · 22-25, F
@pianoplayingsteve you literally said "I know liberals that..." And based your argument around that. I'm not going to engage in discussion with people that are so disingenuous. It's pointless. You can't have any productive political discourse with someone who lies and only uses strawmans.
