First of all you're totally wrong you feeling for the media spin conservatives don't care one bit about who's gay and who's not they believe that everybody should be treated equal and there shouldn't be special caveats because you're gay black brown Asian female male everybody should be treated equal. Abortion should be left up between a woman and her doctor but it should not be used as a form of birth control. Prostitution I don't care what a woman does with her body there have been prostitutes in the world since the dawn of time but then are you wanting prostitution to where it's legal and regulated and taxed by the politicians or just a way for women to make free money without having to pay taxes that's just different question sorry to get off subject. Drugs as long as the drug does not cause problems to the point of interfering with other people's lives such as like acid or psychedelic drugs that make people go out and kill people yes those should be getting rid of so we must smoke pot go for it I don't care didn't care when those deputy sheriff either never even wrote a ticket for it it wasn't legal where we lived I just made him dump it out. so you generalize conservatives would that actually knowing what conservative stand for. If you're listening to MSNBC CBS NBC ABC CNN you're never going to find out what a conservative actually thinks. I watch MSNBC I watch CBS I watch CNN because if you watch the channels that put up a different view than what you normally would agree with then you can understand the other side and you can be sympathetic. But the first one that you mentioned I think is the most important everyone needs to be treated equal doesn't matter the color of your skin or your gender and I really don't care who you want to go to bed with at night. Everybody just needs to be treated as equals.

Maybe YOU believe that, and if you do, then you and I are on the same page. But it's pretty clear from listening to conservative icons and pundits, and the people most upheld by mainstream rightists, that they do NOT believe all people should be treated equal.

I've got the same thing to say here. You, personally, probably believe that. And if you do then I consider you a lot more reasonable than the people who this post is about. But from listening to the usual suspects who are viewed as conservative talking heads, they explicitly say that abortion should not be legal.

I don't watch those networks. I'm not getting this stuff from other people talking about conservatives, just like my opinion of liberals or leftists doesn't come from watching Fox or OANN or reading the Federalist and listening to them talk about their political enemies. I'm getting this stuff from people who say that they themselves are conservative or rightist.

@BlueMetalChick not conservative should not be confused with extreme right wing people. Just like liberals should not be confused with far left wing people liberals and conservatives are really closer to each other than they are to either of the extremes. You cannot legislate someone to be gay or not gay as a matter of fact some of my best conservative friends are gay and they get really upset when people question whether conservative there is nothing wrong about being gay in the conservative view. Look up videos of gay conservatives or gay Republicans.

@dale74 Well, you're not wrong when it comes to liberals and conservatives having more in common than in contrast because most of the liberals in government are on the same page with the conservatives on basically everything they shouldn't be. They both love spending all the people's tax money on arming jihadists, bailing out big banks, cutting welfare checks for the richest corporations in America, and furthering the Saudi genocide. So that sucks.

@BlueMetalChick my personal opinion as a conservative is the only thing the federal government should decide is arguments between the states national defense and international trade tariffs. Everything else should be determined by the state and by the people who live in that state and if the state you live in doesn't represent your views can you move to another state that does. I definitely believe that all government Federal state and local it's been way too much money on stuff that doesn't need to be spent. We have an artificial mountain bike trail in the city I live in we also have homeless people that don't get any help. We have students who are struggling in school that need after school help with their homework. We have bike trails in and out of every neighborhood it's nice but bikes are also authorized to be on the road and have just as much right as a car.
