Largest Ferry Service to Martha’s Vineyard Hit with Ransomware Attack

This is Biden’s America.

The largest ferry service to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket was hit with a ransomware attack on Wednesday.

The company said the ferry service was still running scheduled trips, but people were unable to book or change reservations online.

The company urged customers to use cash because the credit card systems were down.

Wednesday’s ransomware attack on Steamship Authority comes after several other cyberattacks on American companies.

A hacking group with links to the Chinese government penetrated the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s computer systems in April.

In the last month, ransomware hackers have targeted the Colonial Pipeline and the world’s largest meat supplier.

A few weeks ago ransomware hackers shut down the Colonial Pipeline, creating gas lines and shortages in Southeastern states.

JBS, the world’s largest beef supplier was hit with a ransomware attack on Sunday, threatening US meat supply.

One-fifth of US beef production was wiped out after JBS paused processing at five of its biggest beef plants which manage a total of 22,500 cattle per day.

I heard about Martha's Vineyard. I think that was trying to get Obama's attention...so that he could box Biden's ears.

The Russians are trying to show us that they can shut down the whole country if they want to, just like the movie Live Free or Die Hard. The idea that was thrown out there that this is "just the work of free lance Russian hackers" is wishful thinking. Putin is directing it.

If Biden keeps denying it, then he doesn't have to do anything...and he probably doesn't want to do anything, because it would disturb his naps.

Still, since we do NOT want a centralized, bloated government running the entire show...with their cyber fingers in every single jelly donut...private industry is going to have to put on their big boy pants and step up to the plate.

I have said this before...their failure to protect their cyber systems is on them.

PC Matic advertises constantly. They can block ransonware. They are on television so often they are in danger of edging out the My Pillow guy.

Private industry has to stop being so damned cheap, and they have to take some responsibility for protecting THEMSELVES.

And not JUST because we like or need to eat beef, or because Southerners need gas, or because Obama is stuck on fantasy island.

It's in their own self interest. You can't make money if you are shut down, and you aren't making a profit for your shareholders if you are paying ginormous ransoms.
