In the light of the Cummings revelations do we need a Committee for Public Safety, and import some guillotines to Parliament Square?

@ArtieKat I was thinking the very same thing as I was writing my comment. I guess the best we can hope for is a group of experts from different backgrounds and with different political views.

@MrAverage1965 But surely the government’s policy has been largely determined by a non-political panel of so-called experts. Personally I would much prefer it to have been determined by elected politicians, taking account of, but not necessarily following, professional advice.
