Who will pay the landlords expenses
Stopmakingsense · 61-69, F
@MarineBob making money off housing sounds evil-. How about a welfare check for the landlord?
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@Stopmakingsense but the local governments needs the personal property taxes
@MarineBob Tillerson was Trump's Cheney. He was supposed to do oil deals with Russia. Even though Flynn promised to get sanctions dropped against Russia Trump kept delegating the problem to someone else, maybe Jared, Jared was in charge of everything from the Opioid Crisis to Peace in the Middle East. Trump could never get the sanctions dropped.

@MarineBob After the argument I just had with someone my own age who should know better, I could hug you right now.
@LordShadowfire I need a hug these days. 🤪

@MarineBob Lol. The landlords always get bailed out and their tenants still get evicted. The landlord is the only one that ever gets help.

@MarineBob landlords take the risk...
It sucks. I owned two rental properties a few years ago.
I got tired of the legwork ..and sold both..

@SW-User That is the most thinly veiled PragerU level nonsense. There is no risk for property management corps. They always get bailed out. The tenants are just replaced with new suckers.
The whole mom and pop thing is a tiny outlier.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow On that, we can agree. There are too many faceless corporations running rental houses and apartment buildings.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@SW-User Not trying to be a dick but that is a feature not a bug. Some big corporations buy up all these properties from home owners who think they can get out from under their mortgage being a "landlord".
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow And honestly, with everybody too broke to buy a house, that's my only other option. Some outfit called Phoenix Realty tried to buy one of them at half the market value a while back. I could guess what they wanted for it with that name.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@LordShadowfire Yeah. Probably some rich guy thought it was a clever name. Taking distressed properties from desperate people and make an empire from it.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I only expressed my first hand experience. Yes, I am aware of large property management firms who destroy property values in areas.

@SW-User I am sorry about my original assumptions. I am just frustrated by people who use examples like yours to justify real estate empires run by billionaires like Mike Bloomberg.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Those guys burn me up. My intent is to sell these damn rentals, but not to some billionaire. To people. With families.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@LordShadowfire I hope it all works out.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I think it will. By my calculations, if I sell two or three at a time, I can make a modest profit, even with the banks taking their cut, and avoid the massive tax I would incur for selling all of them at once.
