Why do so many RepubliCONS claim to be Christian when Jesus preached hardcore liberal policies
Such as loving your neighbors and inviting them in, for universal health care, loving everyone, anti-war, and so on

@Longpatrol I'm not saying we don't listen to the old testament, but it is less there for the entire historical factor. the reason is that at that time BC there were no established rules or guidelines yet. Until Jesus came and basically said the two commandments above all are "love your neighbor like yourself, and love the lord thy God."
the old testament says things like you can't trim your beard if you're a man. like come on
and if you really study the bible and study why there are even rules to begin with, it is suggested that the rules were established in order to preserve life. for example gluttony or sluggishness (laziness) seems like very unusual things to be considered sins. well, gluttony leads to being overweight and obese and causes numerous health problems.
and slothfullness leads to poverty
