Do you support the troops or do blue lives matter ?

clearly the disrespectful disobedience of this citizen towards the police officers cannot be tolerated. but then again he is serving the country and thats how our society treats em...

i would really like some conservative input on this.. shoudl those cops be fired ? or is the black guy lucky to be alive ? how does the military view the action of these cops ? is the behaviour acceptable ? i mean cleary those poor cops had all reason to feel threatened.

A soldier is capable of identifying his personal weapon by touch, trained to assemble and disassemble it without sight.

I imagine their opinion of anyone carrying a weapon who makes ‘mistakes’ like this is very poor.

@meJess That would likely be a shooter or sniper. And living each day all day with a weapon in a war zone is slightly different than a profession in which a person isn't likely to ever draw their weapon, much less fire it.

@Graylight I thought US police officers were obligated to practice regularly. A long serving one should know what the weapon feels like.

@meJessMost departments I'm aware of practice an hour a month. There is in service training, but it usually revolves around things other than physical training and conditioning. And the range training we're talking about is standing and firing at a target. The most dynamic it ever gets is when the officer is instructed to walk toward the target while firing. Hardly learning to live with your weapon as an extension of your body.

More than that, most officers never even draw a weapon. I come from a family of four Camden, NJ police officers, one of whom was the chief of police for years. In four separate careers in a violent city during civil rights riots, not one of them ever drew a service revolver except for a picture. We can have an army that protects police against citizens or we can have a police force that protects citizens against injustice.
