@Montanaman thing is...I believe this has been going on forever. Now we are all able to witness it via cameras(everywhere) and the internet.
So, this country may have a chance to, maybe, get beyond the crazy.
I will likely be dead and gone, but.....

@Carla Yes. In the past, abuse used to be hidden. I think police body cams should be mandatory, with no option to switch them off, in every police department in the US.

I wish we have better distribution of wealth, like the Scandinavian countries. But we don't, and the Biden plan is not going to get us there, but it's a step in the right direction.

Note that no one is coming for what's "yours". I'm going on a whim here, and I'm pretty sure you're not going to clear more than $300K, in taxable income, and you're a bit short of the nearly $10M in "clear and net" assets, before any estate taxes are due.

I do know that my grandparents came to this country long after slavery ended and no one in my family owes anyone a dime in “reparations,” something the Biden administration is trying to make everyone pay through taxation. So like I said, what’s mine is mine and not yours. And my taxes paid for that school and that freeway thank you very much. @Northwest

Translation: I have no clue that I am protesting something that does not affect me. Stunningly, a lot of Trump's supporters do. Here on SW. They were bragging about Trump promising to repeal estate taxes, until I showed them it does not apply to them, but it does apply to Trump's family.

Biden did not make any campaign promises on reparations, but he does support a Congressional effort to study reparations. To say that your grandparents did not own slaves, is meaningless, because you're enjoying the fruits of slave labor, through our very existence as a country today.

It's really sad that you refuse to understand such a simple concept. There may not be reparations, because the issue is too complex, but we must, as a nation, acknowledge that the ask is legitimate. The bulk of Germany's post war generations did not have anything to do with Hitler, yet they were smart enough to understand that their nation, need to make reparations.

Not really. It's the collective taxes of the people who came before you, but seeing that you believe that only what pertains to you is relevant, then please kindly stop using the interstate highway system, because neither you, nor your grandfather, paid for the sections in my state.
