So Texas is currently crippled due to a power failure from frozen natural gas lines

On the other side of this the state is reporting renewable power avenues (wind and solar) are performing above and/or at expected planned capacity contribution.

In this instance, green power is more reliable than fossil fuels. And thus could be the setting of a stage as climate change drives more and more of these extreme weather conditions rendering gaslines unreliable.

Of course im sure it will be ignored as texas doubles down on gas lines

More bullschiff from a left-wing nut job cultist.

@sunsporter1649 from your own article
Fortunately for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, which manages the state's electric grid, the storm's gusty winds are spinning the state's unfrozen coastal turbines at a higher rate than expected, helping to offset some of the power generation losses because of the icy conditions.
this is also a link to the hourly updated outage capacity data if you want to look at it directly. TotalResourceMW = Thermal Geneators (gas/coal) http://mis.ercot.com/misapp/GetReports.do?reportTypeId=13103&reportTitle=Hourly%20Resource%20Outage%20Capacity&showHTMLView=&mimicKey

@NoahB Missed the first sentence, eh? Well, here it is for you.

"Nearly half of Texas' installed wind power generation capacity has been offline because of frozen wind turbines in West Texas, according to Texas grid operators."
NoahB · 26-30, M
@sunsporter1649 whats not clicking? Nearly half the generator going offline is still producing more reliable energy than the thermal lines. The green generators that are online are offsetting the ones that went down for a sum total of 100% expected energy output. Thermal is reporting 29% expected energy output.

@sunsporter1649 lol this article isn't even compatiable with the first one you posted which reported that the total energy reliance on green generators is less than a quarter. Even if they all went down how would it account for the rest of the power outages?
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@NoahB Little tough on those millions without power in freezing weather, eh? Well, as long as it ain't you, who cares, right?
NoahB · 26-30, M
@sunsporter1649 they don't have power because the gas lines are frozen lol. The gaslines are reporting 29% expected output capacity. The green generators are reporting 100+% expected output capacity. now you're just being obtuse
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@NoahB And 50% of the wind generators being frozen has nothing to do with it, right?
NoahB · 26-30, M
@sunsporter1649 50% of the wind generators are frozen but the other 50% are picking up the slack because of the stronger winds. even the article you posted admits as much. The 50% that still work are producing twice the amount of electricity because of the winds. The same is not true of the gaslines. Of which most are currently frozen and can only met 29% of their expected demand. If anything the green generators are saving texas from the gaslines right now
