Is she representing the insane constituency of Georgia ? How in the world did she get elected ? 😳
And the Republicans were laughing at AOC ?
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
@bijouxbroussard Yes, she is. District 14 is what we refer to as "the armpit of Georgia." 😐
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@SwampFlower I guess I missed that on my travel. Damn, I really thought I saw Georgia.

@bijouxbroussard
How in the world did she get elected ?
She simply reflects her electorate, unfortunately
@Elessar Yes, I know that’s so. Enough people listened to her crazy ideas and thought, “that makes sense”. So it was with Donald Trump, so I really shouldn’t be surprised.

@bijouxbroussard evidently, devolution really is a thing.
@SwampFlower I went to school in Atlanta, where even in the 70s it was relatively sane. But I heard stories. 😳
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
@Kwek00 I mean, did you go anywhere near Whitfield county?
Carla · 61-69, F
@bijouxbroussard Atlanta simply does not reflect Georgia.
I think a good many of the folks that live there, arent from there.
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
@bijouxbroussard She just gave a speech in the House disavowing the things she is on tape saying and , unsurprisingly , casting herself in the role of victim (of the nasty media , of course).
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
@bijouxbroussard Atlanta is a different world and a bit of an oasis, sadly.
@RodionRomanovitch Ah, taking a page out of Trump’s book—“never mind my having said it live and on camera...I was misquoted by the evil liberal media.”
RodionRomanovitch · 56-60, M
@bijouxbroussard Exactement.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@bijouxbroussard It makes sense to them because conspirational thinking makes people who are too dumb or too lazy to know and understand anything feel like they, for once, know something others don't know. It gives them a false sense of power, or even, being part of an elite (yeah, they don't really hate being oppressed by an elite, they just hate the fact they're not *THE* elite). And whatever you bring up to confute their theories, even the craziest one, will always be interpretable as an attempt to "cover up" the "truth". Social media, interconnecting these minds together and uniting them under a single flag did the rest.

It's not a Whitfield county's, Georgia's, U.S's or any other county/state/country issue, it's global. Trumpism, Q-Anons, European populist parties, Brexit and whatever happened in the last decade were all more or less obtained through the votes of conspiracy nuts.
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@SwampFlower I'm not sure, but I don't think I did. I've been driving around a lot, but my knowledge of all the counties and the villages... well, I didn't went in depth that much.

@RodionRomanovitch She also got interviewed by Dinesh! Going: "I was just asking questions about the things I read.". You wonder what she reads in her free time. After she said that she was just asking questions, she made some claims that were pretty detached from reality. Things she learned from reading the same crap that she was asking questions about.

If Dinesh likes you, you know you are pretty fucked up.
