I'm from Texas we will fight to the last man standing
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@TheRascallyOne You have your timelines completely confused lmao. Who would you be fighting?
Nimbus · M
@TheRascallyOne It's traditional :)
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Perhaps he is referring to The Alamo? @QuixoticSoul
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@jackjjackson Perhaps - but during the revolutionary war, gringo Texans did not exist yet, it was still Spain.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Of course TX didn’t exist but why should he let the time continuum interfere with a good story? @QuixoticSoul
TheRascallyOne · 31-35, M
@QuixoticSoul It's different being here you wouldn't understand. Texas always has the mentality of never give up never surrender it's something that's in the land itself
TheRascallyOne · 31-35, M
@jackjjackson Texas as a history you should be more respectful
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@TheRascallyOne Yes, Texas does have a history, and in 1775, "the land itself" was Spanish. Who, btw, totally gave up and surrendered. Then it was Mexico - who encouraged Anglo immigration to build up local population - something that quite clearly backfired on them later, when they also gave up and surrendered.

Those anglo immigrants from the united states later became the people you call Texans. They did not exist at the time of the revolutionary war.

@QuixoticSoul What I am speaking of is not something you can find in your books what I am talking about is Something more something like pride similar to what the Japanese had before they were forced to surrender to the US
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@TheRascallyOne Whatever it is that you think about Texan values or character or whatever - it didn't develop until way after the revolutionary war.

Had the britbongs won that one, you guys would be descendants of British immigrants instead. Things might well have remained much the same otherwise - under pressure from Mexico the newly 'independent" Texas would likely join the British empire for resources and protection.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Or Aaron Burr may have been the first king of TX. @QuixoticSoul @TheRascallyOne @TheRascallyOne @TheRascallyOne
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@jackjjackson Nah, an independent Texas was just not viable.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
It will be when packed with former wealthy CA residents 🤠 @QuixoticSoul
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@jackjjackson These are kinder gentler times, but back then Mexico would have simply annexed it.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
If you’re smart you’d be packing and heading off to purchase some Tx beachfront property. @QuixoticSoul
akindheart · 61-69, F

jackjjackson · 61-69, M
