Would it be best at this point for the Republican Party to self-destruct and let "the base" go its way and the "real Republicans" form a new party?

In seats/races where the Dem can't win, they shouldn't run a candidate. Let the traditional Republican run as an independent so the traditional Republican/independent can defeat the Kool-Aid candidate in the general
