A Final word on Trump (For SW purposes only)

Trump was a disgrace as a human being long before he went into politics. A failied Entrepreneur, a Bankrupt, a liar a cheat and a philanderer. All these things are a matter of public record. His business history and educational record also indicate he was at best, not the sharpest tool in the set. His "celebrity" is really all he has going for him other than the silver spoon in his mouth he was born with. I could say more. But I think these things we can all accept as proven.
There is a link to a news story below about the latest exploits of his "allies" but before we get to that, a word or two about his supporters here. I prefer to believe he has no geniune supporters. Just the trolls and deliberate agitators that are drawn by payment or attention. I just dont like the idea of grown adults being that ignorant or stupid. Or alternatively that uncaring of other, shallow and totally self absorbed. I know thats a "thing" with some Americans. But there cant be too many Kardashians out there.
So I prefer to think that any Pro Trump comments are known to be non factual and do not represent the genuine beliefs of those making the comments. As such I will not bother responding any further pro Trump posts, having faith that enough justice remains in the US system to make sure this skid mark on the underwear of US politics becomes a footnote in history to be remembered and learned from in a similar manner that the National Socialist experiment in Germany in the 1930s was to them. And I hope all Americans are just a little embarrased for their nation that it was allowed to happen. If you dont, then YOU are the problem.. Have a Nice Day馃檪

In mild defense of Mr. Trump (of whom I'm not a big admirer) I have to say he did not start another pointless war at the other end of the world.
@helenS Why do you feel the need to defend him at all ? 馃
whowasthatmaskedman70-79, M
@helenS True.. He also did not Bomb the British Royal Family, burn down orphanages or drown kittens publicly. I would like to think that was not just because he was busy cheating at golf. @$$holes exist. The real problem is allowing them to come to power and then following them.. Having said that I take your point. The US has become too used to using its armed forces to enhance commercial interests..馃樂
@helenS Trade wars.
helenS36-40, F
@bijouxbroussard I don't know. I try to find something good in everyone. 馃槓
helenS36-40, F
@canusernamebemyusername That's mostly a figure of speech.

@helenS I think he sailed dangerously close to starting several wars though.. and I think it's more credit to those nations and their leaders that they didn't choose to bite or take heed of his insults and undiplomatic, ill-advised rants and accusations
helenS36-40, F
@Adaydreambeliever He did not use napalm to burn children in the Far East, he did not kill hundreds of thousands in the Middle East, he did not equip death squadroons in Central America with guns.
On Judgement Day that would be something I'd say to defend him. It's not easy to defend a vile creature like Mr. Trump.

@helenS
As a plus he was kind of starting an internal/civil one.

@helenS lol you are pretty awesome! I will give you that! None of us are judged on what we didn't do.. I didn't smack most of the stupid supporters who have said stupid things but that's not saying much is it? We are judged on what we do not what we don't do. Thankfully most of those he insulted and accused so unprofessionally took the moral high ground and ignored him.. The credit lies with them not him. He did however separate innocent children from their parents, he did encourage racial tensions and hatred which caused countless people to suffer, he did mismanage and spread so many lies about COVID that caused innocent lives to be lost.. oh and perhaps a little flippantly here, he made me frown a few times in disbelief at his actions :P

@Adaydreambeliever I'd say that not doing bad things, which you could easily do, is not as good as doing good things, but better than actually doing those bad things.
Was that a sentence anybody could possibly understand? I feel so confused. 馃槓

@helenS I get it and concur.. But personally I would want better than not being a serial killer for the leader of a major nuclear power. You find that kind of thing hard to take from a banana Republic Despot...馃樂
Adaydreambeliever56-60, F
@helenS You are still way too kind! And you give Trump way too much credit. Even he couldn't do those things.. he might have liked to but even he didn't have that power
helenS36-40, F
@whowasthatmaskedman @Adaydreambeliever
he didn't have that power
Mr. Nixon (Vietnam), Mr. Reagan (Central America), and Mr. Bush (Irak) had that power, and did those horrible things mentioned above.
I'm certainly no Trumpist, I'm not even an American, and I feel pretty bad right now. I should have stayed out of this. 馃槙
@helenS
That's mostly a figure of speech.
But it has real, tangible consequences.
Elessar26-30, M
@helenS I get your point, I'm not attacking you btw, just pointing out that his hands are potentially as dirty of blood as his predecessors.

Also, let's not forget that until soon before covid started spreading in the west, he was trying to escalate tension with Iran as well.
@helenS Instead, he started divided this country and started a Civil War here.
helenS36-40, F
@bijouxbroussard Yes - but not slashed bellies, cities burnt to ashes, young men with burnt faces crying for their mothers.
whowasthatmaskedman70-79, M
@helenS OK. I think we have teased this point out enough.馃樂
@helenS I鈥檓 sorry, I don鈥檛 think defending evil is an admirable quality.
LeopoldBloomM
@helenS Neither did Obama. The last warmonger president was W.
SW-User
@helenS No, he just distanced USA from its allies, made it look weak and foolish to Asians, and managed to get more Americans killed on his watch than happened during WW2.
