Many styles of christianity, including the derivative version... catholicism. Not sure which one these might be, but cults only last until the spacecraft comes for them.

@Graylight I think the Orthodox Churches and what became Roman Catholicism were the first of what we would recognise as organised churches. What came before them was much looser. The Roman Church came from a schism and it's been going on ever since. The American evangelical right is a splinter of several other splinters.

@Frank52 Very true and more nuanced. I'm just always amazed when someone from the Living Rock Church of Deerfield Ave. in the downtown historic district begins lecturing on world religions millennia old.
