Awful. I think they are returning to the vouchers now.

@meggie I mean there's insult and then there's having no clue.
Hard to figure out which is worse in this case.

@Picklebobble2 who made these food parcels up and decided what to put in them, was the people told by government or Boris what to put in them , or was down to the company's who made them up
Picklebobble2 · 61-69, M
@Nyloncapes I imagine some government department outsourced the job and told them they have x-amount to spend per parcel and that's what they came up with !
Nyloncapes · 61-69, M
@Picklebobble2 so government had no idea what was put in them , outsourced company decided ,so why Keir hindsight starmer having go at Boris, just scoring political points again

@Picklebobble2 it is both. Some of the food portions had been divided up and delivered in plastic money bags. One mother got half a can of baked beans in a plastic cup, half a carrot and tuna in a plastic money bag etc. The kids will get ill.

@Nyloncapes it was a catering company who now say the parcels are only meant for a week, not a month.
Picklebobble2 · 61-69, M
@Nyloncapes Well it's clear what they needed and they came up woefully short.
Conservatives will never DO anything if they can outsource the responsibility to somebody else !

Unless of course the company that supplied it actually had to bid to fill the contract !
In which case Starmer is probably right !
Nyloncapes · 61-69, M
@Picklebobble2 yes they came up short with what was in parcels, but lots of things are outsourced and surely these companies must be short of common sense or penny pinching to try and make a fiddle on the contract ,
Picklebobble2 · 61-69, M
@Nyloncapes Well either they have no clue or they're skimming off the top !
Keeping x % for themselves while giving away bare minimum.
Nyloncapes · 61-69, M
@Picklebobble2 agree they must be really thick to come up with parcels like that, but think your other view is more likely skimming and keeping a percentage ,
