@Crazywaterspring And unfortunately this is not exclusively an American problem. The ascent of populists across the West and beyond is coincidental with the new post-truth reality. They feed off each other and are fed in turn by propagandists who masquearade as news organisations. To put an end to this descent into madness there needs to be a reckoning with social media platforms (already happening) and poisonous right-wing media. (Still a long way off.)
