He has VAST amounts of debt coming due. He is probably using the un-hampered funds from his "help the recount" appeal to finance thus, because he knows that Florida inexplicably allows people who go into personal bankruptcy to shield their home, even if it is a vast mansion, valued many σ's over the local mean value.
But you'd have to have paid attention to some major stories to know these...

And he is a traitor.
He has VAST amounts of debt coming due.
