@BackyardShaman I just saw part of the mega article on CNN's website about the votes today--they keep adding new vote articles by state as they get them in--and it has queries about the entire process interspersed, and the CNN responder abour funny business on 6 Jan said

• today's vote is public, so the result IS known;

• there are 6 copies of the votes if anyone tries to misrepresent them--incl. one to the Nat'l Archives, etc.--so easy to check;

• the VP doesn't have a private tally.

Also, there is a procedure to object. You need a Representative from a state AND a Senator from the SAME state. This could happen, but Democratic control of the House will stop this from going anywhere.

Again, time to get rid of the Electoral College.
