@HoraceGreenley It's hilarious. They're crapping themselves because you have a different opinion. But I see it here everyday. It's like a magnet for intolerant clowns.
@HoraceGreenley When you are living in a country: - with veto power in the UN - holds the worlds' reserve currency - that is a big player in NATO - is a nuclear super power - is the biggest and important player on the world scale since the collapse of the soviet union
... But are to retarded to understand that the US is also important to other countries around the world.
Don't you have your own messes to clean up?
If the US didn't go against the rules they gave the okay for in the UN. Europe would not be dealing with the fall out of the Iraq war of 2003 right now. And if the American banking system wasn't allowed so much freedom during the Clinton years, the economical fallout from the 2008 crisis might have been tempered too. A lot of mess that has to be cleaned up, has to do with descisions made outside of our borders because thinking that every nation is just an island which can take actions without anny consequences for other players, is just retarded.
@Kwek00 Not to mention the country that has started more wars with countries they can't even find on a map and a polls advocating bombing a fictional country to drive the point home even further.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Honestly, if you are such a big player on a world level, you have to break some eggs sometimes. But that Iraq thingy, made absolutely no sense what so ever. Back then, you had a big chunk of the country on all sides of the political spectrum that also believed a chunk of data that was heavily contested by other countries. When other countries said: "where is the evidence", they got some ambiguous material. That's why the UN didn't approve the intervention, and NATO didn't help the US out. Now years later, we know for a fact, that the entire war was based on a flawed premise. But hey, what's the damadge with spreading rumors right?
@Kwek00 Sorry but the UN's very existence is supposed to prevent that very same might makes right mentality. It is far from just Iraq that had no justification. The US is just another empire like those before it. The bratty teenager that turned into their parents.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow If there was an actual security risk for the US from weapons made in Iraq, then there are procedures inside the UN that allow a preemptive strike. Before that happens though, there are a bunch of steps in the soft-power department that have to be taken first. In 2003 paranoid behavior just got the better of the US, it whiped it's ass with pretty much all the rules it helped to set in place, and just did what it wanted to do. The fall out is pretty bad tough. You have Iran and North Korea, that both suddenly discovered that international rules won't save them from an invasion and started nuclear proliferation. You have the middle east that just got destabelised which created immigration streams and room for terrorist factions to recruit angry people that well... had a good reason to be pissed off.
@Kwek00 That is a huge stretch and the US has never cared about UN approval as anything but a rubber stamp for optics. And no, that is pure propaganda. Bush himself said he just wanted to finish his daddy's war regardless of any pretext. Nothing about paranoia. It was entirely calculated. We are in agreement the behavior of the US created the incentive for weapons programs in NK and Iran. That was mostly because of Libya though. They were convinced to disarm and the US and NATO leveled the country. And the middle east didn't just get destabilized in a vacuum. It is the direct result of the US and NATO foreign policy for decades.
@HoraceGreenley You are an idiot. The US has caused more chaos and mayhem then any other nation since 1945 by a long shot. In Afghanistan the US was killing more civilians then enemy combatants. And that is with low balled American numbers.
There is a reason the US was deemed the greatest threat to peace in a recent poll.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow So if he disagrees you call him an idiot, coming from Canada and having a nancy boy as prime minister what else would I expect
@HoraceGreenley That is factually inaccurate bullshit. The US has started pretty much every conflict it has been involved in sicne 1945. And has been destroying nations ever since. The US also hasn't won a war since. Left plenty of carnage around the world but that is it. Quit drinking the Koolaid.
