Is the world watching America to see if democracy is a favourably government system?

Should the news services of the free democracies explain what the processes are rather than let an old possibly senile businessman whimsically undermine the last three thousand years of human governmental development using authoritarian techniques favoured by despots, autocrats and chairmen of the politburo?

America's great. Where else in the world, given the wonderful opportunity that democracy can allow, would 60 million people vote for a complete buffoon?

America is not a democracy it’s a representative republic and that’s what many people outside the US and a few in the US don’t understand.

@basilfawlty89 I f that were true states like Wyoming would have no say at all in national elections.

@jackson55 that's because nearly no one lives in Wyoming. Popular vote is how most countries do it and it works better than the electoral college, which just ensures a two party system.

@basilfawlty89 Like I said before, without the electoral college California and New York would dominate national elections and not everyone likes liberal politics.
American democracy pretty much has been flushed down the toilet politics are a joke

The problem is we don't have true democracy.
Do away with politicians, political parties and presidents.
We need direct democracy, we can govern ourselves without electing people to rule over us and electing them every few years in the hopes they maybe represent us.
